The Cumulative Tasbih 📿

Mustafa finishes fajr prayer at the mosque and is about to head out when he notices someone getting upset at a digital tesbih device.
He stops the elderly man from throwing the device into the bin and decides to take the device for himself.
As he starts his walk home, he resets the device and begins to use it to tally his dhikr.
When he arrives home he looks at the device screen. The number reads 194!. He is sure that it should be a higher number during that 5 minute walk home.
He connects the device to a computer and manages to retrieve a log file of raw button inputs.

A sample of the log file reads:

++-++--++---+--+--

It seems that for some reason, the device is also the removing score from the tally as well as adding to it.

  • Each + represents one dhikr completed.
  • Each - represents a glitch in the device that registered a negative tally (even though the negative button was not pressed).

What was the number of dhikr he actually completed if the negative scoring is removed?
