The Wisdom Key 👣

As Mustafa leaves the mosque after tahajjud, the courtyard is unusually quiet. The air is still. The lamps glow softly.

Just as he reaches the gate, a familiar voice speaks behind him.

"Every step we take can be a blessing."

Mustafa turns.

It is the same man from the first day of Ramadan.

Before Mustafa can say a word, the man presses a small folded note into his hand. The paper feels old — thicker than it should be.

"Read it," the man says, "but not with your eyes alone."

When Mustafa looks up, the man is gone.

When he unfolds the paper, he finds a message written in strange lettering. It looks like ordinary text — but the words make no sense.

At the bottom of the paper is a single word, written clearly:

KEYWORD: WISDOMISED

The Cipher

Mustafa realises the message is encrypted.
The cipher follows these rules:

  • Begin with the given keyword
  • Write the keyword using unique letters only
  • Remove repeated letters
  • Follow the keyword with the remaining letters of the alphabet (A–Z)
  • Skip any letters already used in the keyword

This produces a substitution alphabet

Example

Keyword:
FAST

Unique letters:
F A S T

Substitution alphabet:
F A S T B C D E G H I J K L M N O P Q R U V W X Y Z

This substitution alphabet replaces the normal alphabet:

Plain: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
Cipher: FASTBCDEGHIJKLMNOPQRUVWXYZ

Decryption Rules:

  • Each letter in the encrypted message maps back to its corresponding letter in the normal alphabet
  • Letter case does not matter
  • Spaces remain unchanged
  • Punctuation remains unchanged
